After the sad demise of The Cat and Mutton into overpriced awfulness this stands out as an almost unparalleled purveyor of Sunday lunches in East London. It’s big enough for you to not need to book a table if you’re a small group and if the weather decides to be decidedly un-British and the sun shines you can work off the spuds with a stroll around London Fields
This upmarket pub offers up some extremely good quality food with a wine menu to match. It might be a little off the beaten track but is well worth making a detour to. I’d even suggest treating yourself to a couple of gin and tonics afterwards in order to hang around for the quiz which offers a rather generous cash prize.
Quite perfectly located next to Clapham common this is a Sunday lunch venue which offers enough to lure you in for a slightly ill advised all day session. Abundant outdoor seating, cosy interior and a menu which will probably induce the odd dribble. Might want to book ahead for this one as it’s understandably very popular!
Hi Al, Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your blogs! Will try and find some pubs round here for you to raid when we get together in August! Cheers, Lynnex
Sounds good! Glad you’re enjoying them 🙂
